During your first semester, I’ll support you on a journey of self inquiry via the Path of Non-separation using a combination of video lectures, contemplation exercises, companion readings, written essays and 1 on 1 guided self inquiry.
After becoming familiar with the basics of Applied Awakening, in addition to our weekly self inquiry calls, you will engage the Oxford University tutorial system to create original written work that functions as the foundation of our exploration together. This system consists of independent reading assignments and online lecture study culminating in bi-weekly written essays that we discuss during our 1 on 1 calls.
In this tutorial driven self inquiry process, our work together is designed to move you from “writing about Non-separation" to “writing from Non-separation" to "being written as Non-separation."
We’ll start by exploring the basics of Applied Awakening to give you a firm footing in the Non-separation conversation before launching into more complex lessons. We will use the six most important questions in Applied Awakening to frame our first week of 1 on 1 self inquiry calls.
We’ll explore the primary assumption of humanity, how to locate your original story, how to see through the stories layered on top of this original story and how to inquire into to nature of impersonal experience. This exploration will constitute a deep dive into the Path of Non-separation self inquiry process and support you as you examine the separate self and learn how to identify the culture of separation.
You will learn how to walk back through your collection of personality stories and move towards discovering what I call your “original story.” If located, we will begin questioning the nature of this original story. You’ll emerge with the knowledge of the basics of Applied Awakening and a new practice that supports you on your journey to the realization of Non-separation.
In month two, we will start the Oxford tutorial system, and your bi-weekly written essays will begin. You will read the most recent articles on Applied Awakening and study online lessons composed of video lectures and written pointers designed to guide you towards the realization of Non-separation. For each online lesson, you will answer a set of review questions that we use as exploration material for our 1 on 1 discussions – which will determine the topic you will explore in your essay.
In month three, we will continue working on essays while intensifying our focus on the self inquiry process. In addition to the essays, I will introduce a new contemplation exercise that further teaches you how to recognize the culture of separation. You will take a deep dive into understanding the differences between the mechanics of the culture of separation and one aligned with Non-separation – and be taught to understand how a world of “not separate” is different from one attached to all that is "separate." The semester will close with a discussion of where you’d like to go in semester #2 and we will create a syllabus that will best serve you.
